Summerland BC Tourism & Travel Guide
Welcome to Summerland, BC!
Summer weather forever may not be a reality, but Summerland proves that a sunny disposition can make it feel that way. Located 48 km (31 mi) south of Kelowna and 18 km (11 mi) north of Penticton, this city curves along the western shoreline of Lake Okanagan. Rivalled only by Kelowna in terms of fruit production and processing, numerous fruit stands are a part of the Summerland landscape. When not selling visitors on its fruit, the city's downtown charms with taverns and shops themed in an Old English style. Summer in the Okanagan is often full of laughter, fresh fruit and fun out on the water, and Summerland is certainly no exception. Water-skiing and boating are extremely popular on the lake and the sandy beaches are perfect for sand castles and picnic lunches. For an enchanting experience, board the Kettle Valley Steam Railway and catch a glimpse of what lured people to this sublime land.
